If someone asks me where to go for learning Chinese, I will not hesitate to recommend the prestigious LCC(北京外交人員語言文化中心)。
I learned Chinese for a long time in many places: a university in Seoul, Korea, the Mandarin Center in Taipei, the LCC in Beijing from 2001 to 2003, and Guangzhou, Guangdong Province (from private tutors). It has been a long way of 35 years.
